Meals for nutrition in Uganda – biofortified solutions

Goal: The project aimed at reducing micronutrient malnutrition and improving dietary intakes of vitamin A, and iron among beneficiary households, through enhanced production of Vitamin A rich sweet potato and Iron rich beans, increasing consumption and utilization of bio fortified foods and building and strengthening partnerships for mainstreaming bio fortification.

Objectives

  1. To create public awareness about OSP and its importance.
  2. To enhance farmer’s knowledge on production of Bio fortified crops.
  3. To mitigate the incidences of iron and Vitamin A deficiencies among.

Target population: 420,000 households for 25 districts

Target districts: Kamuli, Kayunga, Iganga & Luuka
