Food and Local Agricultural, and Nutritional Diversity
Goal: To develop, implement, and validate innovative, scalable and sustainable technologies aimed at supporting the nutrition performance of local food systems in Africa, while strengthening agro- biodiversity and food diversity as well as diversity of healthy diets.
Objectives
- To develop and implement open organizational innovations for local food supply chains.
- To develop, implement, and validate open technological innovations for (crop and fish) farming systems.
- To develop, implement, and validate open technological innovations for food processing.
- To disseminate and communicate innovations, strengthen and diffuse balanced, healthy diets, and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition.
Target population: The project is also targeting 1220 farmers organized in 3 Food hubs (Kamuli- 200, Nkaseke-200 and Kajansi & Masaka- 820)
Target districts: Kamuli, Nakaseke, Kajansi, Masaka
