Food and Local Agricultural, and Nutritional Diversity

Goal: To develop, implement, and validate innovative, scalable and sustainable technologies aimed at supporting the nutrition performance of local food systems in Africa, while strengthening agro- biodiversity and food diversity as well as diversity of healthy diets.

Objectives

1. To develop and implement open organizational innovations for local food supply chains.
2. To develop, implement, and validate open technological innovations for (crop and fish) farming systems.
3. To develop, implement, and validate open technological innovations for food processing.
4. To disseminate and communicate innovations, strengthen and diffuse balanced, healthy diets, and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition.

Target population: The project is also targeting 1220 farmers organized in 3 Food hubs (Kamuli- 200, Nkaseke-200 and Kajansi & Masaka- 820)

Target districts: Kamuli, Nakaseke, Kajansi, Masaka
