Enhancing Citizens Engagement for Sustainable Diets in Northern Uganda.

Goal: To contribute to improved food and nutrition security through sustainable production and consumption of diverse, healthy local vegetables in Bardege and Bungatira sub counties Gulu district.

Objectives

  1. To build and strengthen citizens advocacy resilient partnerships, networks and alliances for promotion of policies that address food standards and ensure sustainable production and consumption of nutritious diverse foods in Gulu district.
  2. To improve access to quality indigenous seeds and knowledge relevant for sustainable food production and consumption among selected farmers in Bardege and Butangira sub counties Gulu district.
  3. To create awareness on nutritional value and benefits of local vegetables  for increased consumption and utilization among communities, partners and stakeholders in Bardege and Bungatira sub counties Gulu district.

Target population: The project targeted 600 direct and 1200 indirect households

Target districts: Gulu

Interventions: The project is intervening by promoting community-based nutrition initiatives that are fostering production and consumption of diverse, healthy local vegetables in Gulu district.
